Options for Funeral Services

Traditional Services

With a growing trend toward customizing funeral services, families have many options. “Traditional” funeral or memorial services are not necessarily traditional at all, although they can be. With a growing trend toward designing each remembrance as a meaningful reflection of a loved one’s life and personality, plans may follow a traditional structure and little else.

Sometimes the terms funeral service and memorial service are used interchangeably. It is commonly thought that a funeral service is held prior to burial or cremation with the body or ashes present. Memorial services are held after disposition of the body, either shortly after the death or at a later time. Some families are choosing to hold what has become known as a Celebration of Life.

Celebration of Life Services

A Celebration of Life can be held weeks, or even months, after burial or cremation and can replace, or be in addition to, a traditional service. Held anywhere, the focus is on informal sharing of good times and happy memories.

Whatever type service or form of disposition you choose, Dannel Funeral Home will provide you with information about the many ways you can honor your loved one, with ceremony, celebration and/or services that bring comfort and healing.

The Dannel Promise

“My primary interest is to be sure families’ emotional and spiritual needs are met. They only do this one time for their loved one; they get this one chance. We focus on services they want in a way that helps them feel most comfortable so that they are reassured that they did the right thing, that they fulfilled the wishes of their loved one. Additionally, it gives families the best possible beginning to healing, so they can move forward. Creating a good funeral experience is a first important step.”
