Alice Faye Benedict, 64, of Sherman, passed from this life early Tuesday, November 24, 2015, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Visitation will be held from 6:0-8:00 p.m. Monday, November 30th at Dannel Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 1st in Dannel Funeral Chapel. Pastor Leland Samuelson will officiate. Alice was born July 8, 1951, in Sherman, TX, to James Curtis and Myrtle Collins Williams. She was a graduate of Sherman High School. She was employed as Court Clerk for the City of Sherman for over 25 years. After retirement, her favorite activity was shopping for bargains at local garage sales. If no sales were available, her second choice was shopping at Wal-Mart. At home, Alice loved to sit outside on the front porch with her husband Billy Benedict (deceased). She waved to every passing car. The word 'stranger' was not in her vocabulary. If forced indoors, Alice was most likely watching another sci-fi movie on television, or maybe one of her favorite cooking shows. For over 10 years, she loved her dog Pugsley, and her 'adopted' cat Shadow. Alice is survived by her children: James Michael Blankenship and his wife Charlene, William Howard Blankenship III, and William and Shane Benedict, all of Sherman; brother, Jakie Williams and his wife, Rae, of Wyoming; sister, Melba Judy Crow, of Sherman; and a host of friends.
