Obituary For Alivia Carol Davis

Alivia Carol Davis was born in Houston, Texas on February 26, 1953 to parents Charles and Lela Eddins and peacefully entered the arms of Jesus on October 25, 2024 surrounded by her daughters.

Mama knew the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal savior. She was a member of West Sherman Baptist Church. We would pick her up and take her as long as she could go. And we better not be late. Even in the nursing home she would have Bible studies. I would bring her my old Sunday school books and our Daily Bread Devotional books. She loved the Lord and loved singing hymns.

Mama loved to cook and bake. She showed her love of baking by teaching her daughter how to make Christmas candy. Her favorite was peanut brittle. Her yummy recipes are enjoyed at family get togethers, which she loved. She always got her a sample plate. Alivia’s favorite part of family get togethers was being surrounded by her beloved family and making them feel loved. She always made sure everyone had a gift, in her later years she would make something for everyone. She was very talented in the arts and crafts. Her last projects were diamond art. Her past projects include ceramics, painting, sewing and cross stitch.

Alivia was preceded in death by her parents Charles Eddins, Lela and Clyde Sutherland and one nephew. Those left to cherish her memory are daughter Theresea Parks and husband Brian of Sherman, Texas and Christine Ratliff and husband Tony of Sherman, Texas. Her grandchildren Joshua Parks and wife Leah of Sherman, Texas, Cody Parks and wife Caitlyn of Leander, Texas, Emily Parks of Sherman, Texas and T.J. Ratliff of Sherman, Texas. Her great-grand children Austin Parks and Bryce Parks. Her siblings Cathie Johnson and husband Bobby of Denison, Texas and James Eddins and wife Candy of Whitewright, Texas. Her many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Please join us to celebrate the life of our beloved Alivia. Family night will be held at Dannel Funeral Home in Sherman from 6 to 8 pm. on Wednesday, October 30th. Funeral services will be held at Dannel Funeral Chapel in Sherman at 11 am, Friday, November 1st, officiated by Pastor Kevin Obrien of Hospice. Interment will follow at Cedarlawn memorial Park, Sherman, Texas.

Pallbearers will be Joshua Parks, Cody Parks, Austin Parks, T.J. Ratliff, Brian Parks, and James Eddins. Serving as Honorary pallbearer will be Bobby Johnson.

The family would like to express thanks to Cedar Hallow Nursing Home for their loving care. Also to Concord Hospice for taking such good care of Mama the last three months. There are not enough words to show how thankful we are.
