Obituary For Angel Mariss Strait

Angel Mariss Strait, 35, of Pottsboro, Texas, passed away on August 10, 2021.

She was born in Dallas, Texas, to Rusty and Raquel Strait on April 14, 1986. Angel went to elementary and middle school in Pottsboro before moving to Gainesville, Texas, where she graduated high school in 2004.

Angel lived her life, first-and-foremost, with a love for her children and family. She enjoyed all things outdoors and spending time with her family fishing, kayaking, camping, boating on the lake, and riding dirt bikes and ATVs. Inside the home, Angel loved everything arts and crafts and was a talented and gifted artist; she took great joy in putting love into the pieces she made for her home and her family.

She was full of life and love, and had a smile and laugh so contagious that others couldn’t help but do the same.

Angel is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Scott; daughter Keelie, and sons Kye and Asher; sister Sierra Hummert and her husband Nick of Sherman, Texas; father Rusty Strait and stepmother Rachel of Gainesville, Texas; and mother Raquel Strait of Pottsboro, Texas.

Information will be shared about a celebration of her life at a later date.

In memory of Angel and in support of her family, donations may be made at https://gofund.me/9b004f9d to establish a memorial fund for the future needs of her children.

“You are my sunshine, my only sunshine.”

Angel was just like my daughter. We became close friends after I started working at the daycare. I took care of Kye he was probably 14-16 months old. We bonded instantly. Then came baby Asher. He and my grandson share the same birthday. Don't forget my sweet Keelie, she is my sweet only granddaughter. We adopted each other. Then we have Scott, he is the best! He always help do little things at the daycare even after he worked his long shift. My babies came to visit and have fun sleepovers. Angela and I shared a special bond. My precious daughter how I miss you dearly. I miss our talks, visiting, and garage sale fun. Just know I will still keep contact with everyone. RIP baby girl, God has you now. Love you , Lisa

So many memories of Angel. She was like a daughter to me. I'm so glad I had her in my life for so many years. We took her to Disney World years ago and she loved it. She came with us to the mountains and she thought it was in the North Pole. She took home many Christmas tree ornaments that were beach themed. She was just a happy child and loved her mamaw and papaw with all of her heart. My hope is that she is with mom and dad and singing you are my sunshine. You are really an Angel now my dear. Momma Chelle loves you so much.
