Arlene J. Wolfe of Sherman passed away on Sunday September 11 2011 at Texas Health Presbyterian-WNJ she was 82 years old. Mrs. Wolfe was born in Kansas City Ks on February 27 1929 to William A. Johnson and Edith Edna (Summers)Johnson. She attended Kansas City Schools and the University of Kansas where she was a cheerleader. She married Sam D. Wolfe Jr. on Feb. 25 1951 in Kansas City. Arlene enjoyed many trips to Las Vegas NV Bossier City LA and the getaway home in Santa Fe NM with husband Sam. Arlene also enjoyed golf and bridge with her many friends. In her later years she spent much time caring for her ill parents and husband prior to their deaths. In 1952 Mr. & Mrs. Wolfe became partners of Scheurer Bros. Hardware Company on south Travis in Sherman. In 1957 the Wolfe"s opened the well known store named "The Gift House"" in Sherman. Mrs. Wolfe is survived by a son Sam D. Wolfe III and wife Felisa of Whitesboro, grandchildren: Josephine Thomas and husband Toby of Denton Ben Wolfe and Leighann Wolfe of Whitesboro, great-grandson Ethan Thomas of Denton and niece Alisa Campbell and family of Olathe KS. Visitation was held Thursday September 15 2011 at Dannel Funeral Home from 7 to 8 p.m. Graveside services will be held at West Hill Cemetery at 11 a.m. on Friday September 16 2011 with Mike Bentley of North Union Street Church of Christ of Whitesboro TX.
