Obituary For Barbara Ann McNulty
The family of Barbara Ann McNulty, 84, of Gordonville, Texas would like to let you know that her work here on Earth is done. On January 29th, 2021 she received a call, sort of an offer you can’t refuse, for an appointment from which she will not be returning. This assignment comes with a huge sign on bonus - a reunion with family she has missed for a long time. Her mission takes her to a beautiful serene place where she will be with family - laughing, talking, playing cards and Yahtzee. A place of no pain or heartache.
Mom was born to Tex and Inez Hollingsworth on Wednesday, September 9th, 1936 on her mother’s birthday at her grandparent’s farm in Chillicothe, Texas.
Barbara, better known as Mom, Grandma, Nana, or BoBo was not an ordinary woman by any means. Each person has a special gift that they bring to life and will leave behind. Mom had a very creative mind. She loved to sew, paint, help Dad with wood working, go to craft shows and spending time with family.
On November 28th, 1953 she married the love of her life, Bennett McNulty, in Knox City, Texas. Over the years they had three children, seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and eight bonus grandchildren.
We can look for her in the evening sunset or among the fluttering butterflies or maybe at a slot machine. Mom will be forever loved and missed. Predeceased family greeting her upon arrival include her parents Tex and Inez Hollingsworth, her Grandsons Chase Wallace and Ben McNulty III, sister Debbie West and brother Jim Hollingsworth, as well as her grandparents and in-laws. Surviving family include her husband, Ben McNulty; daughters Brenda “BJ” Walton, Jane Dunham and Terry; son Ben McNulty Jr and Krista; Grandchildren Heather Wallace-Weinette and Kelly, April Petit and Sachio, Kerri Dunham and Robert, Garrett Dunham and Gil, Chris Martin, Skyler Smith and Greg; Great Grandchildren McKenzie Wallace and Dallan, Sierrah Adams, Jet Petit, Chase Weinette, Zoey Dunham, Sydney, Bransyn, Nyx and Boston Smith, Rebecca Martin, Bryce Herbert and Amira Akhtar; Siblings Sue Hamilton, Vivian Grammar, Bonnie Fisk, Bill Hollingsworth, Raymond and Ginger Hollingsworth. Many, many nephews and nieces and special people including Jo Beyer, Doris McNulty, Shirley McNulty, Margo Hollingsworth, Relda Feudo and Donnie Peel.
Following cremation a celebration of life will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, February 13th, 2021 at the Sadler Community Center in Sadler, Texas.
