Obituaries

Bernice Williams, 82, of Sherman, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at Texas Health Presbyterian/WNJ. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 28th at Dannel Funeral Chapel in Sherman. Rev. Roy Layman of Grace Bible Fellowship, in Gunter, will officiate. Interment will follow in Akers Cemetery. Bernice was born August 9, 1931, in Paducah, TX, to C.A. ‘Buster’ Jones and Dottie Davis Jones. She was raised and attended schools in Bennington, OK. She married Louis Williams in Howe, TX, on September 10, 1951. They celebrated 56 years of marriage prior to his death in 2007. Bernice was employed in Quality Control at Texas Instruments for 26 years before she retired. She was a long-time member of First Assembly of God Church in Howe. Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters, one brother and a daughter-in-law. She is survived by her children: Darrell Ray Williams of Auburn, NE, Gary Louis Williams (Penny) of Sherman, Glenda Huntsman (Tommy) of Sherman, and Joel Seth Williams (Melody) of Sherman; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; brothers, C.A. Jones of Maud, OK and Bill Jones of Southmayd, TX; sister Dorothy Kirby of Howe, TX. In lieu of flowers, the family appreciates memorial donations to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.
