Services for Betty L. Harper. 84, of Sherman, Texas who died Saturday, August 8, 2015 at Wilson N. Jones Medical Center of Sherman will be Saturday, August 15, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace United Methodist Church with Rev. John Fleming officiating. Interment will follow at Akers Cemetery, Sherman, Texas. A family visitation will be held at Dannel Funeral Home Friday,August 14, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Mrs. Harper was born March 5, 1931 in El Dorado, Arkansas the daughter of Ralph and Hortense Rayburn Pittman. On February 2, 1951, she married Robert Harper in El Dorado, Arkansas who died March 31, 2008. She attended Southern Methodist University and received her BA degree and was a member of the Pi Beta Phi Sorority at SMU. She was involved with the Sherman Community Players of Sherman and she was very active in her church, Grace United Methodist Church where she was a member for many years. Preceding her in death were her husband, Robert (Bob) Harper, parents and a brother Bill Pittman. Surviving are her son, Dave Harper, wife, Sandra of Abilene, Texas; daughters, Sally Harper Williams, husband, Eric of Lewisville, Texas, Beth Hubbert, husband, John of Sherman, Texas; brother, Ralph Pittman, wife Sue of Los Angeles, California; Grandchildren, Justin Harper, wife, Jenny, Jon Harper, Cassie Hubbert, Sally Hubbert, Molly Doyle, husband Alex, Sam Hubbert, Whitten Williams and Krista Williams; Great Grandchildren, Alex, Reagan, Madison, and Andrew. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Jon Harper, Sam Hubbert, Whitten Williams and Alex Doyle, friends, Ron Cassady, and Webster Crocker with Honorary Pallbearers grandson, Justin Harper, friends, Lloyd Perkins and Roger Osterhout. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Grace United Methodist Church, 2800 Canyon Creek Drive, Sherman, Texas 75092 or Sherman Community Players Endowment Fund, 500 N. Elm St., Sherman, Texas 75090.
