Bettye Marie Roberts passed away September 7, 2021 in Denison, Texas. She was born on March 22, 1933 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Henry Everett Ferguson and Lena Lahoma Taylor Ferguson. She attended Grayson County College and Texas A&M College where she graduated with a master’s degree in Education.

Bettye met William P. Roberts as a teen while living in Oklahoma City. They married on April 9, 1948 and went on to have a family of four sons. They moved to Whitewright, Texas where Bettye was employed by the Trenton ISD. Bettye and William spent many years in Native American ministry. In 2006-2007 they were chosen by the Southern Baptist Association as Missionaries on the year.

Betty is survived by her son’s Terry Roberts, Richard (Paula) Roberts, David (Pamela) Roberts and many grandchildren.

Bettye’s family will have a private ceremony celebrating her life at Vittitoe Cemetery in Whitewright at a later date.
