Obituary For Billie Kathryn Shores Grizzle Murray

It is with sorrow that we announce the passing of Billie Kathryn Shores, Grizzle, Murray on February 28, 2026. Billie was the last of nine (9) children born to Henry Shores and Mattie Davis Shores on October the 13, 1932. Billie was born in Hughes county in the small town of Yeager Oklahoma.

Billie is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Mattie, her husbands, Clint Grizzle and Dan Murray and her siblings, Bernice, Maureen, Doris, Jay, Alma, Jo, Howard (Bud) and Glenn ( Coty).

Billie grew up in the Yeager, Spaulding, Holdenville area of Oklahoma. Billie was a force for good throughout her life. Caring and kind to all, she was committed to all in her family. She was a dutiful and responsible daughter, a supportive and devoted sibling , a confidant and trusted Aunt. Billie was a loyal and committed lifelong friend to many. She in so many ways, was the caregiver and the one all could count on for counsel when requested, support when needed.

She met and fell in love with Clint Grizzle and they married in 1951. Billie had a successful business career as an information analyst with Dunn and Bradstreet and then after retiring, went on to have a second career with Texas Southwestern University. Billie and Clint retired to Tyler, Texas and lived there, until Clints passing in 1997.

In 1999, Billie married Dan Murray and for the next 23 years, lived in California and then Texas. Dan passed in 2023 and Billie spent her final years in Sherman, TX being a wonderful grand, grand-grand and Aunt to her nieces and nephews and their families and a loving, life long friend to many.

Services for Billie will be held on March the 14, 2026 at the Holdenville Chapel located at the cemetery in Holdenville Oklahoma. Visitation at 12:00 pm with Service to follow at 1:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers please make contributions to your local Hospice.
