Obituary For Billie Stephens

Billie J. Stephens, 82, who died Friday, July 29, 2016 at Homestead of Sherman, surrounded by her loving family. A Celebration of Life service will be held 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at Dannel Funeral Chapel of Sherman, Texas . Officiant will be Rev. Brandon Powell of Sherman Church of the Nazarene and private interment will follow at Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Mrs. Stephens was born January 31, 1934, in Green County, Tennessee to Ruby Dixon and Clyde L. Aldridge. She married married Olie Stephens on November 14, 1992 in Blackstone, Virginia. For approximately 19 years she was a seamstress with the Levi Strauss company in Blackston, Virginia. She also worked as a Receptionist and Secretary and managed a child Care Center. Sher was a member of the Sherman Church of the Nazarene, a member of the Writer's Organization for Grayson County Community College and was a volunteered for Home Hospice of Grayson County. Mrs. Stephens was preceded in death by her parents, Ruby Dixon Aldridge and Clyde L. Aldridge; and husband, Olie Stephens. She is survived by sons, Larry Bates and wife Sarah of Denison, TX, and Robert Lee Bates and wife Vivian of Alpena, MI; daughter, Laureene Tucker and husband Mike of Geraldine, AL; sisters, Betty Cameron and husband Bill of Dowelltown, TN, Brenda Fite and husband Micky of Pembroke, KY, and Gay Hodges of Rice, VA., grandchildren, Ashley and Rachel Ponder of Whitewright, J. Forde of Sherman, TX; great grandchildren, Brennan Ponder and Princeton Taylor of Whitewright, and Leo Forde of Sherman. Arrangements are under the direction of Dannel Funeral Home, Sherman, Texas.
