Billy Wright Woods, 71, of Sherman, took his final journey on September 20, 2020, following a short run with lung cancer. Funeral services and military honors are scheduled for 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 23, 2020, at Dannel Funeral Chapel in Sherman. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

A lifelong patriot, one of Billy’s proudest accomplishments was his service to the United States Navy from 1968 to 1971.

Billy is survived by his wife of 15 years, Betsy Woods, of Sherman; son Brian Keith Woods and daughter's Renee and Linsey Woods both of Sherman; grandsons: Garrett Woods, Marshall Woods, and Zander Collum; granddaughters: Gracie Woods, Kari Jordan and Kelsey Woods; brother, Tommy Woods, of Virginia; numerous nieces and nephews.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Wilean Woods, and one brother, Jerry Wayne Woods
