Bonnie Ruth McCord 81 passed away peacefully Tuesday September 10 2013 at her home in Sherman. Bonnie was born on February 4 1932 in Colbert OK to Chilton and Nona Collins Hogue. She attended school in Colbert along with her three sisters and two brothers. She married Julius Ray McCord in September 1949 and they started a family in Sherman. The family relocated to Illinois for eighteen years then returned to Sherman in 1971. Bonnie and Ray were married for 62 years before his death in 2012. Bonnie worked as a medical transcriptionist while in Illinois and at Kimbell Oil Mill Labs in Sherman where she met her best friend Mary Ann Bell. She was an avid Texas Rangers fan and loved spending time with her family and friends. She will be forever missed. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents husband and four siblings. She is survived by three sons: Dennis McCord and wife Kathy of Carbondale IL Larry McCord of Trappe MD and Paul McCord and wife Debbie of Sherman, grandsons: Brent McCord of Trappe MD and Benjamin McCord of Sherman, granddaughters: Erin McCord of Sherman Michelle McCord of Denison and Megan McCord of Steamboat Springs CO, six great-grandchildren and one sister Peggy Weathers of Colbert OK. Family visitation is scheduled for Saturday September 14th from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Dannel Funeral Home in Sherman. Graveside services will be held at 6:30 p.m. in Colbert OK at the pavilion of The Garden of Memory Cemetery in Colbert OK. Quinton Gage of Coleman Avenue Church of Christ will officiate.
