Obituary For Bruce Marsico
Bruce Lynch Marsico, small business owner, world traveler, and long-time Denison resident passed away at his home on February 10th at the age of 70. Born May 14, 1952 to the late Eugene and Belinda Marsico, Bruce graduated from The University of Texas at Austin where he studied linguistics with a focus on the Portuguese language.
After living in Austin, Bruce returned home to Denison where he opened a successful specialty store catering to cigar and tobacco aficionados.
Bruce’s love of languages and innate curiosity about the world would lead him to his passion…travel. He and his long-time partner, Howard Starr, explored the world together finding joy and delight in immersing themselves in local culture. You could always rely on Bruce to give friends and family incredible recommendations for hidden gems in any given destination. Some of his favorite places were New Orleans, Rio de Janeiro, Lisbon, London, Paris, and Venice. Bruce was preceded in death by his partner of 30 years, Dr. Howard Starr, his parents Eugene and Belinda Marsico, and his brothers John Marsico and Eugene Anthony Marsico, Jr. He is survived by his cousins: Mia Munson and Elizabeth Marsico-Long both of Denison, TX; Bill Marsico of Lakeland, FL; Nick Marsico of San Antonio, TX; Vic Marsico of Houston, TX; and Howard’s children: Brandon Starr of Dallas, TX; and Virginia Grubbs of Rowayton, CT.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Home Hospice of Grayson County or Denison Animal Welfare Group (DAWG). A memorial service will be held at a later date.
