Obituary For Cecil Hermes

Send Flowers Cecil Alfonse Hermes January 15, 1937 - December 17, 2015 Cecil Alfonse Hermes, 78, of Sherman, died Thursday, December 17, 2015, at The Homestead of Sherman. A Rosary will be recited at Dannel Funeral Chapel at 5:00 p.m. Sunday, December 20th. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 21st, at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Celebrant will be Fr. Jeremy Myers, assisted by Fr. Antonio Aureus. Interment will follow immediately afterward in St. Mary's Cemetery. Cecil was born January 15, 1937, in Lindsay, TX, to Tony and Thersa Koeshler Hermes. He graduated from Lindsay High School. He served his country proudly in the US Army. In 1963, he married Dorothy (Doris) Sicking in Muenster, TX. He retired as press operator from Kaiser Aluminum after 32 years of service. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church for over 53 years. Preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Cyril and Randy Hermes, he is survived by his loving wife Dorothy, of Sherman; children: Doug Hermes, of Austin, and Joann Beaty and husband Riley, of Howe; granddaughters: Deann Skipworth, Jalaine Beaty, Brittany Beaty, and Rachel Hermes; great-granddaughters: Taylor Skipworth and Parker Skipworth; brothers: Mark Hermes and wife Dolores, of Calisburg, Ralph Hermes and wife Debbie, of Gainesville, and Francis Hermes, of Lindsay; sister, Rosemary Dankesreiter and husband Thomas, of Muenster; numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. Serving as pallbearers are: Glen Robinson, Anthony Robinson, Lake Robinson, Ricky Skipworth, Jason Hermes, and Eric Dankesreiter.
