Obituary For Cecile Elizabeth Sanderson

Born on August 23, 1924 in Denison, Texas on the family farm - Bon Aire, Cecile passed away on December 24, 2023 at her son and daughter-in-laws home in Sherman, Texas at the age of 99.

After spending the first six years of her life living with her mom and dad on the family farm, she moved into Sherman to live with her grandmother and grandfather who ran Kidd-Key College. She graduated from Sherman High School in 1942.

After high school, Cecile attended classes at TWU and then married Lt. Paul Hodson Sanderson of Logan, OH on August 19, 1944 in Sherman, Texas. They soon moved to Dallas, Texas where they began their family. In 1965 she earned her real estate license and began a long and successful career as a Realtor in both Dallas and Sherman, eventually becoming a real estate broker. She and her business partners opened the first Coldwell Banker real estate franchise in Sherman.

In her personal life, Cecile had a life long love of horses, tennis, swimming and travel - all of which she participated in until late in her life.

She is preceded in death by her former husband Paul H. Sanderson, son Paul Hodson Sanderson Jr, son Stephen Kidd Sanderson and daughter Lucy Ann Sanderson. She is survived by son John Webb and daughter-in-law Marty Sanderson, grandsons Jeffery Sanderson and Stephen Sanderson, daughter-in-law Betty Sanderson, granddaughter Patricia Cecile and husband Jason Williams, and great-grand children Jacob Williams and Paige Williams.

Services will be held at Dannel Funeral Home on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at 11:00 am. Visitation will follow at the home of Webb and Marty Sanderson.

The family would like to give special thanks to Tamera Heinz and Wanda Reeves along with her many other caregivers from Home Instead and Home Hospice of Grayson County.

If desired, memorials may be made to Home Hospice of Grayson County.

Arrangements are under the direction of Dannel Funeral Home.

Cecile has been a part of my family before I was born. Such a graceful lady, and beautiful wife, & mother. She was a hard hitter, and did it with style. She was a very kind, compassionate, nurturing woman. Miss you Mama. I love you

Webb, My memory of Cecile centers around her loyalty to her friends. She was a dear friend to my mom Charlotte Spears through her prolonged illness. They were buddies! Her verve for life radiated from her. Sending love to you and your family in this time of transition. What great pictures of her! Betsy Spears

I always enjoyed being around Cecile as she was such a great individual with a great sense of humor. She traveled with the American Bank Travel Club and was always such a positive person. Beth Williams
