Obituary For Celia Stout
Celia Patricia (Pat) Foster Stout, a member of St. Stephens Episcopal Church, died Wednesday, September 21. Pat was born March 15, 1927 in Denison, Tx and was the eighth child of Celia Sybella Jones and George Paige Foster, Jr. After graduating from Denison High School, where she was a drum major, Pat attended Austin College where she met her future husband and then went on to Texas Woman's University. Eloping to Hillsboro, Texas, she and her husband, Dr. Joseph Henry Stout, soon moved to Sherman where he opened his medical practice, reared 5 children, and were married 55 years. Pat had many hobbies and interests. She was an avid golfer and also played tennis. She loved sewing, cooking, painting, quilting, doll making, and refinishing furniture. Her volunteer work included the Sherman Service League, helping in the Sherman Public Library, working as a "Pink" Lady at Wilson and Jones Hospital, and working at Time Out working with Alzheimer patients. Preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Joseph Henry Stout and son, Harry Lee Stout, Pat is survived by daughter-in-law, Diane Stout of Houston; son Randolph and his wife Jennifer of Denton, Texas; daughter Laura Fincher of South Padre Island, Texas; daughter Anna Hagemeier and her husband, Marvin of Carrollton, Texas; and son Norman and his wife Bradley of Phoenix, Arizona. Grandsons, Stephen and Thomas Buell, children of Randolph and Jennifer Stout of Denton, Texas, granddaughter Tricia Ebel and husband Eric of Denver, Colorado, grandson, Joe, and granddaughter, Addie, children of Norman and Bradley Stout, and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to the Sherman Public Library, 421 N. Travis, Sherman, Texas 75090, the Alzheimer's Association, 225 North Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601-7633, or the charity of your choice. Visitation will be at Dannel Funeral Home, Monday, September 26, from 6:00-8:00 and the memorial service will be held at St. Stephens Episcopal Church on Tuesday, September 27, 2:00 p.m.
