Charlene Reynolds, 87, of Sherman, passed away Saturday, June 7, 2014, at Texoma Healthcare Center of Sherman. Her family will receive friends from 6:00-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 10th, at Dannel Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 11th, at North Park Baptist Church. Rev. Danny Wood of West Sherman Baptist Church will officiate. Interment will follow immediately afterward in Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Charlene was born May 29, 1927, in Dripping Springs, TX, to Otis Irvin and Berthal Thurman. She graduated from Sherman High School in 1944. As a young woman, she spent several years as an X-ray technician at Wilson N. Jones Hospital in Sherman. On May 10, 1947, she married Billy Young Reynolds in Sherman, TX. They raised five boys together and were, at different times, active members of North Park Baptist and West Sherman Baptist churches. In later years, Charlene volunteered at the Sherman Public Library and in several area nursing homes. Charlene is survived by her sons: Michael and April Reynolds of Portland, OR, Kenny Reynolds of Luella, TX, Chris and Judith Reynolds of Pottsboro, TX, and Mark and Vicki Reynolds of Allen, TX; brother Ronnie and Genevia Irvin of Quinlan, TX; sister Nancy Willingham of Sherman, TX; sister-in-law Evie Irvin of Richmond, VA; grandchildren: Sara Reynolds and husband Josh Gedlick of Ashland OR, Eli Reynolds of Vancouver, WA, Emily Reynolds of Boardman, OR, Jessica and Justin Bryan of Abilene, TX, Jordan Reynolds of Pottsboro, TX and Morgan Reynolds of Allen, TX; great-grandchildren Kyla Reynolds of Ashland OR, Anderson Bryan of Abilene, TX and Benjamin Bryan of Abilene, TX; numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. Charlene was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 55 years, Billy Young Reynolds and one son Stephen Reynolds.
