Obituary For Charleta Adair
Charleta Cox Adair age 83 passed away on February 21 2013 at Beacon Hill Nursing facility located in Denison TX. Services will be held at Dannel Funeral Home Chapel on Monday February 25th at 12:00 p.m. Rev. Bruce Bradley of Plano nephew of Mrs. Adair will officiate. Interment will be at West Hill Cemetery in Sherman following services. Visitation will be at Dannel Funeral Home on Monday February 25th at 11:00 a.m. Charleta was born on a farm on October 13 1929 in Groesbeck Texas the daughter of Melvin Lewis Cox and Rufie Ann (Barker) Cox. She was high school salutatorian and attended Texas Christian University. She married Joe Dan Adair on October 18 1950 and the two shared a partnership of love and adventure for 50 years. He preceded her in death on June 7 2001. Upon moving to Sherman in 1966 Charleta was an active member of the Sherman Service League and was an accountant for many years at Adami-Lindsey & Company. Upon retirement she volunteered as a member of WNJ "Pink Ladies" Auxiliary traveled with friends and family and loved to play Bridge. Charleta was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Surviving is her daughter Judy Adair Kelley and husband Max three grandchildren, Jennifer Kelley Harmon and husband Johnathan Brian Christopher Kelley and wife Nikki and Katy Lynn Kelley of Sherman four great grandchildren Courtney Kylie and Jace Harmon of Denison and Nolan Christopher Kelley of Sherman. She also leaves behind one sister Mary Alice Baker of Coppell and brother-in-law Gene Adair and wife Honey of Pottsboro. Serving as pallbearers will be Curt Adair Clay Adair Brian Kelley Johnathan Harmon Tyler Vaught and Wesley Johnson.
