Obituary For Cleo Merle Cline

A celebration of the life of Cleo Merle Evans Cline, who passed away on October 16, 2018, will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Grace Lutheran Church in Denison, Texas. Pastor Michael Mattil will officiate.

Cleo was born in Kauffman County, Texas on November 29. 1926 to Mansel Tilman and Gladys Sifford Evans. She was the oldest of four siblings and was raised on the family farm. She attended school in Terrell and Dallas at Woodrow Wilson. She worked for Johnson and Johnson in Dallas before relocating to the Sherman plant in 1963. She married Clarence “Slim” Cline in 1958 in Reno, Nevada. Cleo had six children and 15 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She loved her church and the LWML, which is the women’s group for the Lutheran church, and she loved quilting. The Dallas Cowboys remained a passion for her until her passing.

She owned Harrison Street Laundry and Walnut Street Laundry for many years and made lots of friends during her time there. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, infant son, Ricky Joe Cline, brother Sonny and sister Peggy. She is survived by 3 sons: Grady Wayne Burroughs and wife Nora of Dallas, Texas, Steven Tilman Burroughs of Salisaw, Oklahoma, Dennis Jack Cline and wife Kathy of Sherman; 2 daughters: Glenda Diane Burroughs Low and husband Ricky of Irving, and Debra Burroughs Main of Sherman; brother: Billy Wayne Evans and wife Carol of Allen, Texas; 15 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
