Obituary For Cleo Robinson
Obituary for Mittie "Cleo" Robinson Cleo Robinson (our beloved “Maw Maw”), 85, of Dallas , TX., peacefully passed away at 10:07 AM on the morning of May 17, 2017. Cleo was born on March 6, 1932 in Jonesboro, LA. to James Mason and Mary Lillian Blaylock. She graduated from Leverette's Chapel High School in 1949 and on December 1,1950, married Eddie Max Robinson, her pre-school, elementary, middle and high school sweetheart, and was happily married for over 64 years. In 1954 and 1958, she welcomed two boys, Nathan Eddie and Timothy Stephen, into the family, and in 1976, when the boys were grown, Eddie and Cleo received a confirmation from God to expand the family and adopt two young girls, Eadie Diane and Emma Darlene. Cleo began her work career in 1949 at the age of 17 as a dental assistant in Overton, TX. She had to wear a white nurse's uniform, which is the reason why Eddie loved to see her in white. Later on in their marriage, she began working at Texas Instruments for a number of years until they adopted their daughters. After Diane and Darlene were grown, she began working for Blue Cross until she retired. Throughout her life, she was always doing something creative - painting, ceramics, stained glass, upholstery, decorating, landscaping, canning, sewing, and family Sunday dinners after church. Her children remember her as a Mother who loved without limitation or measure; who was always there to encourage in the face of doubt; who believed when no one else would believe; who provided support even when resources were thin, and who was capable of making everyone feel that they were Maw Maw's favorite. She was generous with her time and her talents , kind to everyone she met, dedicated to her family and passionate about her faith. She was a member at Covenant Church in Carrolton,TX. Cleo is survived by her daughter-in-law, Christy Robinson; her youngest son and daughter-in-law, Timothy and Janae Robinson; her eldest daughter Diane Johnson; her youngest daughter and son-in-law, Darlene and Rick Evans; her beloved grandchildren and their spouses: Nathan and Lauri Robinson; Christopher and Collette Robinson; Aaron Robinson; Ashley Hobby and Kris Rhoades; Alora Lewis; Kirk Evans; Meghan Evans and Edgar Romero; Alexandra and Zachary Stone; Addam Johnson; and her great grandchildren; Brittney Kirkland; Christopher Diaz, Mycal and Emma Rhoades, Natalie and Elizabeth Lewis with one great great grandson Aidan Benge. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and extended family. She is preceded in death by the love of her life, Eddie Max Robinson, by her parents James Mason and Mary Lillian Blaylock, and by her eldest son, Nathan Eddie Robinson. The funeral service will be held at 11:30AM on May 27, 2017 at Dannel Funeral Home, located at 302 S Walnut Street in Sherman, TX. The service will be officiated by Rev. Dan Rigdon, Pastor Emeritus of Life Central Church in Plano TX. The visitation will be held at the funeral home at 10am, immediately before the service.
