Cliff Kenneth Johnson age 79 passed away at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital-WNJ in Sherman TX on Monday June 25 2012. Graveside services will be held at Friendship cemetery on Thursday June 28 2012 at 9:00 a.m. Bro. Bob Layman of Van Alstyne will officiate. There is no formal visitation planned though Mr. Johnson will lie in state at the funeral home until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday if anyone would like to stop by and sign the register. The family will be at the residence in Sherman. Arrangements have been made under the direction of Dannel Funeral Home. CK was born on October 23 1932 in Grandview AR to Jeff Davis Johnson and Furnie Rhoden Johnson. He was educated in the Berryville Arkansas school system. CK served in the United States Army during the Korean War. On December 24 1959 he and Beverly Watson from Howe TX were married by Bro. Bob Layman at the Dorchester Baptist Church. They were blessed with three children. CK was employed at Sherman Wire as a supervisor for more than forty years before he retired. Survivors are his wife Beverly Ann Johnson of Sherman Kenneth Johnson of Sherman Jon Johnson and wife Mindy of Denison Angela Runnels and husband Paul of Whitesboro brother William Johnson of Lawton OK and Steve Johnson of Bells TX sister Mildred Brown of Orr City TX nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
