A Celebration of Life will be held for Cloretta "Ann" Orr who passed away in her home of 35 years in Howe on May 25, 2014 after a short and unexpected battle with cancer. Since March, Ann was under the loving care of her family, close friends, and Grace Hospice of Plano, Texas. Ann Orr was born March 10, 1947 to Thomas George "T.G." Profitt and Loretta Culver Profitt in Afton, Oklahoma. She graduated from Webster High School of Tulsa Oklahoman in 1965. After graduating, Ann pursued her passions in the creative arts where she discovered her talent as a unique artist with the ability to work with any material, from painting and sculpting to design and decoration. On July 16, 1976, God introduced Ann to Jack Rogers Orr, her future husband and soul mate, whom she married on July 17, 1978 in Dallas, Texas. Jack took his vows to heart and stood by her side "in sickness and in health, until death do us part". Soon after, God blessed the couple with two daughters, Jacqueline Noel Orr born December 2, 1978 and Heather Ann Orr, born September 13, 1980. The next 36 years of Ann's life was devoted to being a wonderful mother and loving wife, where she began volunteering at church functions. As her "girls" grew throughout the years she became more and more involved with school activities and events, which soon earned her a reputation as being "everyone's favorite mom." In 2000 Ann's appetite for the arts ultimately led into a life-long dream of owning and operating her own floral business, where she used her natural talents with design and people to create a successful floral business, Legacy Flowers of Sherman, Texas. She had a gift for creating beautiful and original floral arrangements and gave herself entirely to customer care and volunteering for the community. In 2005, Ann took her creative gifts with sewing and fabric manipulation to the internet, where she operated an online business marketing and selling specialty items she handcrafted herself, such as Primitive Folk Art Dolls, Fanciful Dolls, and Folk Art home design. There has yet to be a person, who was not astounded and bewildered by her artistic talents. She will never be forgotten for her friendliness, kind-heart, vibrant spirit, and contagious laughter. She was "everyone's mom", she never met a stranger, could talk for hours to anyone and everyone only to leave a smile on the face to all who she met. Ann was proud of her Native American Heritage and embraced her passion for the earth and all the life upon it, from the tiniest seed to the largest tree. Ann touched many lives and meant so much to many people who are grateful to have had her influence. Her love and light will continue to shine down on all the world. She will forever be missed. Ann is survived by her husband, Jack Orr, of Howe, Texas; two daughters, Heather Oetker and husband Jeremy of Denison, Texas, and eldest daughter, Noel Orr and her two sons, (Ann's Grandsons), Axton "A.J." Grams Jr. and Jack "Ryder" Bregenzer. She is also survived by sister-in-law, Dolores Randolph and niece, Melissa Randolph, both of The Colony, Texas; brother-in-law, Douglas Orr, of Dallas, Texas; and half-brother, Charlie Profitt, of Joplin, Missouri. She also leaves behind her mother, Loretta, and brother, Timothy Profitt, of Miami, Oklahoma; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews throughout Oklahoma and Missouri. Just as important she also leaves behind her “fur babies;” Issabella “Issy” and Valentino “Tino,” her two Shih Tzu dogs, Sweetie Pie her angelic rescue dog and Kit Kat the amazing housecat. Ann was preceded in death by her father, Thomas George Profitt, half-brother, Tom Profitt, and the sister she never got a chance to know, Paula Jean Profitt. Family night, which includes both a Rosary and visitation, will be held on Thursday, May 29th, 7:00 p.m. at Dannel Funeral Home, 302 South Walnut, Sherman, Texas. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 30th, 1:00 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 727 South Travis Street, Sherman, Texas, followed by a graveside ceremony at St. Mary's Cemetery. Prior to the funeral, a special luncheon, provided by both the church and Progress Rail Services, will begin at 11:30 a.m. in the Parish Center next to St. Mary's. Father Antonio Aureus will be officiating the ceremony and floral arrangements have been provided by Hannah’s Florist in Sherman. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Oetker and Axton Grams Sr., both of Denison; Jason Grisham of Howe; Rodney Connor of Frisco; Connor Highfield of McKinney; Harlan Owens of Sherman; and "Honorary Pallbearers'" are Axton "A.J." Grams Jr. and Chad Smith both of Denison. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Ann's life here on earth and her new life in heaven.
