Obituary For Dennis Ervin Lawless

Services for Dennis Ervin Lawless, 73, of Howe, Texas, will be held on Sunday, February 20, 2022, at 4:00 PM in the Dannel Funeral Home Chapel in Sherman. Rev. Steve Holston will officiate. The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 19, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. There will also be a light reception following the service on Sunday. The family will have a private inurnment at a later date.

Dennis was born on August 28, 1948 in Baytown, Texas, to Stuart and Millie Lawless. He was raised in Crosby, Texas and graduated from Crosby High School in 1966. He enlisted in the United States Navy and upon his honorable discharge he enrolled into Texas A&M University at College Station, graduating in 1975 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. He worked in the oil and gas industry in Midland, Texas for many years and retired from Chevron Texaco Pipeline in 2002. He and his wife Beth retired to Leakey, Texas in the Frio Canyon of the Hill Country and lived there several years before settling in Howe, Texas.

Dennis was a die hard Aggie who enjoyed a good Aggie joke. He loved being outdoors, particularly camping and boating with his family. He loved his golden retriever, Dusty and they are playing ball once again. He will be greatly missed.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Beth of Howe; 3 children: Brent Lawless and wife Christine of LaPorte, Texas, Luke Lawless and wife Lauren of Frisco, Texas, and Lacy Bohne and husband Jeff of Bells, Texas; 5 grandchildren: Dennis Andrejczak and wife Brittnay, Jacob Scalzo, Trinity Bohne, Logan Bohne, and Ryan Bohne; and many cousins, aunts, and uncles.
