Obituary For Dennis Lovelace
Dennis Maxwell Lovelace, 79, of Sherman, passed away December 25, 2013, at San Remo Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richardson, TX. His family will receive friends at Dannel Funeral Home Friday evening, December 27th from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Funeral services are scheduled for 9:30 Saturday morning, December 28, 2013, with Jo Ed Furr officiating. Interment will follow at West Hill Cemetery with military honors provided by the United States Navy. Mr. Lovelace was born April 5, 1934 in Bonham, TX, to Martin B. Lovelace and Minnie Lee Berger Lovelace. He was educated in the Bonham schools and later attended Grayson County College. Soon after graduating from high school, Dennis entered military service in the United States Navy. While serving in Korea, he was stationed aboard the USS Prairie. Just six months after his discharge from military service, on December 24, 1957, Dennis was married to his sweetheart Fredreka Ann Duncan in Bonham, TX. Very soon afterward they made their home in Sherman, TX, where they enjoyed 52 wonderful years together, before Fredreka preceded him in death in July of 2010. Dennis was employed by, and retired from, Texas Instruments, as a machinist. He was a life-long member of the Church of Christ, and in later years worshipped with friends at Trinity Baptist Church. Favorite ways to enjoy a few hours of leisure included a good game of bowling, and/or a bit of target practice at the shooting range. Dennis was also an avid supporter and fan of the Texas Longhorns. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife Fredreka. He is survived by his daughters: Tina Lovelace (Jeff Sporkin) of Denver, Tammy Lindsey (Eric) of Wylie, and Kathy Lovelace of Plano. He also leaves five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews to cherish his memory. Serving as pallbearers are: Chris Hill, Brian Hill, Trevor Montgomery, Matthew Lindsey, Jonathan Bove, Eric Lindsey, Jeff Sporkin and Rick Hill. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
