Services for Dennis Ray Thurmond who passed away at his residence in Sherman on August 29 2012 will be held on Friday August 31 2012 at Dannel Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Andy Andrws District Chaplain of VFW will officiate. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. Interment will be at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman. Pallbearers are family and friends. Dennis was born to Cliff and Mary Jane (Martin) Thurmond on January 20 1948 in Sherman Texas. He attended Sherman schools and was an electrician. He married Kathy Brisco in Sherman on June 29 1970. Dennis was a member of the Lakeside VFW Post 2772. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents Cliff and Jane Thurmond. He is survived by his wife Kathy Thurmond of Sherman son Terry Jones of Sherman and daughter Lisa Farmer and husband James of Sherman also surviving are grandchildren: Ethan Farmer Nathan Farmer Bethany Farmer Shelby Farmer Stephanie Farmer Tyler Jones Jacob Jones Monica Jones and Roy Jones and a brother, Richard Thurmond and wife Carolyne of Pottsboro For condolences please sign the online guestbook at www.dannelfuneralhome.com.
