My deepest sympathy and prayers for the children of Dick Rodgers.Dick was a strong,caring and humble man!I know he loved his children and grandchildren with all his heart.I will never forget one of the last smiles he smiled before he left this world,he will be very missed and in our hearts forever. ~ Shelly Willett, Bowie, Texas

Dick, today was one of the headrest days for your 3 children, Kristi, Kara & Ryan. The time had come for them to say their goodbyes to you here on earth. One day all of you will meet up again, until then they will grive your passing and embrace all of the special memories they have of you. They really out did themselves, you would be very proud of them. Your funeral service was planned in very good taste. Many kind and thoughtful words were shared about you. Some memories and much needed laughter was reflected about you. The music that was chosen by your children for your service was excellent very fitting for a man that was dearly loved by his children and their family's. Some of your grandchildren shed many tears and some didn't make it to your service. It was to hard for them to say goodbye. Dick you had a grand turnout of family, extended family, friends, your bothers in law enforcement and dear friends from VFW. Your last ride home to Whiteboro, TX was fit for a king. You were in all of your Glory. The Per session was a parade of Law Enforcement vehicles, The Bike rides from the VFW, yourself and cars, trucks for miles on end. People showed their respect by putting off the side of the road. Removing their hats and covering their hearts in honor of you. Your dear pastor and friend Buddy gave a wonderful service in your honor. I know you all to well, you were watching down on everything and rejoicing that you had found your way home to be with God. Dick you were greatly loved by many and will be missed by even more. Many you rest in peace now. ~ Kim Rodgers, Allen, Texas

Dick was the first of my Dad's friends that I remember meeting while he was in ICU before passing away. Dick came in several times to visit Dad and to check on me. He was so kind and his words so gental. He made the whole situation a little less scary. I am blessed beyond measure knowing that Dick was such a great friend to everyone. I am so sorry to hear he has passed. When I was young he was an officer in Saginaw, he helped me to shy away from a path I had started down that could have lead to a much worse life by giving me a chance to correct my mistake with out a record. Dick was my neighbor when I lived in Tioga and my friend. I shared many a Friday night supper with hum and Bill, the Collinsville Chief. I always felt safe when I knew that he was just a block down the street, or around the corner. Dick was one of the nicest men I've ever known. Dick was a dedicated police officer and was there for my mother and I when my Daddy passed suddenly. We will forever be grateful for his professionalism and friendship in our time of loss.
