Don Dunham (1934-2025)

Don Dunham, a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and devoted veteran, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at the age of 91 in Sherman Texas.

Born in Syracuse, New York, on August 25, 1934, Don's life was defined by dedication and a passion for life's simple pleasures. At the age of 19, he proudly joined the United States Air Force, where he honorably served his country for 20 years before retiring. His service was a testament to his strong sense of duty.

After his military career, and traveling around the world, He had a successful civilian career, working as a Burlington Industries until their closing and then working at A1 printing before fully retiring.

Don was a dedicated community member, serving many years in the Sherman Odd Fellows Club and being an active part of Saint Stephens Episcopal Church. He found great joy in his hobbies, which included a deep passion for smoking his tobacco pipes, enjoying the tranquility of the outdoors, and watching the weather station and the Texas Rangers.

Don is preceded in death by his first spouse, Joyce Dunham.

He is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth Dunham; his daughter, Donna Dunham Faradineh and her husband, Magic Faradineh. Don also leaves behind his cherished bonus family, including Eugene Morales Jr, Christina Dollar, Serena McFarland, and Liz Patterson. He will be deeply missed by his surviving siblings, his brother, Tom Dunham of North Carolina, and his sister, Doris Dunham of New York. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Ashley Faradineh of New York City and Shayan Faradineh of Austin, Texas, including bonus grandchildren, Nicole Moffit, Joseph Winkler, Micheal Dollar, Tori McFarland, Taryn McFarland, Brennan Patterson, Kinley Patterson all of Sherman, Texas, and his many loved great-grandchildren in the Sherman area.

Service Details

The family of Mr. Dunham will greet friends on Thursday, December 4th, from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Dannel Funeral Home.

Funeral services will follow at 12:00 PM (Noon) on Thursday, December 4th, at Dannel Funeral Home, with reception immediately following the service.

Interment will be on Monday, December 22nd, at 11:00 AM at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman. The United States Air Force will accord military honors at the graveside.
