Obituaries

Donald was born in Fitzhugh, Oklahoma on April 19, 1939, the child of Joe and Pauline Smith. He graduated from Northside High School in Ft. Worth, Texas in 1958. He served in Europe with the United States Army from 1962 to 1968.

He married his wife, Brenda Ayers, on October 8, 1966, and they were happily married for 56 years. They had two children, Lori and Michael, two grandchildren, Jeffrey and Jeremy, and five great grandchildren. Don was a machinist by trade and worked for Texas Instruments and MEMC for over 28 years.

Donald was preceded in death by his wife and his parents. Also by his sister Caole and his brother Earl Joe. He is survived by his children, his grandchildren and great grandchildren, and by his nieces and nephews.

There will be a graveside service held on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman at 10:00 AM. Pastor Caleb Fleming of Fairview Baptist Church in Sherman will officiate.
