Donna Lou Kile Anderson, 74, passed away January 17, 2017 at Carrus Specialty Hospital in Sherman. Her family will receive friends Thursday evening, January 19th, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Dannel Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers are: Dallas Brown, Blake Brown, Trinity Porter, Stephen Sloan, Jeff May and Jack Boston. Donna was born May 7, 1942, in Sherman to Athel and Lillian Kile. She married her starter husband, Rowan Brown in Sherman. Together they began raising their family in Muskogee, OK. Donna was active in church, school and activities. She served as PTA President, was named Muskogee Outstanding Woman of the Year by the Muskogee Optimist Club, was a member of St. Paul Methodist Church, and could always be found in the stands cheering on her sons in football, baseball, and wrestling. In the early 80's Donna moved back to Sherman where she met and married Andy Anderson. She and Andy lived in Pottsboro while Donna continued her education, graduating from North Texas with a teaching degree. Besides her family she was most proud of this accomplishment. She and Andy then moved to Sherman where Donna began a 27 year career at Dillingham intermediate School. She took great pride in being a teacher, touching many young lives during her career by being a positive role model and always offering encouraging words to her students. Donna is survived by two sons: Todd Brown and Anita of Muskogee, OK, and Tony Brown and Toni of Chillicothe, TX: sister: Judyth Swinney and husband Brady of Tyler, Texas; grandchildren: Dallas, Blake, Trinity and Taylor; nieces Sarah and Suzy; nephew Stephen and great-niece Sarah; special friends E. Vannoy, Mary Hawkins, and life-long friend Jan Barker. Her loss will also be grieved by past and present faculty members at Dillingham Intermediate Campus, whom she considered family. Donna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Andy Anderson, and two sons, Barrett and Chance Brown. Arrangements are under the direction of Dannel Funeral Home.
