Obituary For Donna Kay Lovelace
Donna Kay Lovelace, age 61, passed away March 8, 2026 at her home in Pottsboro, Texas.
She was born July 31, 1964 at Madonna Hospital in Denison, Texas to Earl and Barbara
Lovelace. Donna was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She touched the lives of
many with her profound sense of humor and eccentric personality. Donna possessed a brilliant
mind, an empathetic heart, and had an extraordinary ability to connect with just about anyone.
Donna graduated from Denison High School in 1982. She spent a short time at Texas Tech
University pursuing a Pre-Law degree, and was a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority. She went
on to obtain a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Austin College in 1993, followed by a
Master of Science in Social Work from University of Texas Arlington in 2000, ultimately
becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Donna spent many years providing therapy and
case management services to troubled children and their families in the DFW area.
Donna had an immense group of friends and family with a lifetime of memories filled with
adventure. She enjoyed traveling across the United States and Europe, and spending time on
Lake Texoma. She loved rock music, unconventional art, and was the most fashionable person
we all knew. Donna adored her two little dogs, Jingles and Mija.
Donna was a lifelong Democrat and had a huge heart for helping the underserved among us.
“The hottest places in hell are reserved for those who, in times of great moral crisis, maintain
their neutrality.”- Dante
While we are grieving, we are at peace knowing Donna lived by this quote and is free and
rejoicing in heaven.
Donna is survived by her mother, Barbara Lovelace, brothers, Mark Pierce and Dr. Michael
Lovelace and wife Tonya, niece Brandi Lamb and husband Brandon, nephews Brandon Smith
and wife Monica, Mark Lovelace, and Matthew Lovelace, great nieces, Jane Lovelace and
Madeline Lovelace, great nephew Aiden Lamb, and countless friends- all who will forever
cherish her memory.
Donna was preceded in death by paternal grandparents Roy and Lena Lovelace, maternal
grandparents William Booher and Ruby Booher Crow, and her father, Earl Lovelace.
The family will greet friends on Sunday, March 15 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Dannel Funeral
Home in Sherman.
A Celebration of Donna’s life will be held Monday, March 16 at 10:30 AM at the funeral home
with Pastor Steve Rice of Calvary Baptist Church in Denison officiating.
Two of Donna’s favorite things were helping others in need and a great pair of expensive shoes.
Please either donate to the charity of your choice, or go buy the shoes- life is short.
