Dorothy Genelle Campbell, 84, of Sherman, Texas, passed away on Friday, July 7, 2017 in Van Alstyne, Texas. A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 PM, July 20, 2017 at Dannel Funeral Home with the Rev. Samantha Parson of First United Methodist Church in Sherman officiating. Genelle was born at the Woodman’s Circle Home in Sherman, Texas to Maud and Hugh Campbell on July 9, 1932. She attended school in Sherman and was a graduate of Sherman High School. The majority of her working career was at M & P Bank, Sherman and TI/Raytheon, Sherman and Richardson. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Sherman. Genelle is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Jack and Hugh; and a sister, Helen. Genelle is survived by Betty Campbell Vinson of McKinney; Carol Campbell Newsom and husband Don of McKinney; sister in law Nelda Forest Campbell; brother in law L. D. Allison; nieces: Sarah Campbell Stevens; Susan Allison; Debbie Sanders; nephews: Jack Campbell; Bill Allison; Tim Newsom; Bo Vinson; Dr. Thomas Newsom and cousins: Kirby and Charles Douglas Ward. Memorials may be given to Hospice of Grayson County, Hospice Plus or the Care Team, First United Methodist Church, Sherman, Texas.
