Obituary For Dorothy Tracy

Dorothy Jean Tracy, 76, of Pottsboro, passed away Thursday, July 9, 2015, at Beacon Hill Nursing & Rehab Center in Denison. Graveside services were held Saturday, July 11th in West Hill Cemetery in Sherman. Fr. Paul Nesta of St. Luke's Episcopal Church officiated. Mrs. Tracy was born December 13, 1938, to Luther Edwin and Dorothy Mayo Canada. She graduated from Sherman High School in 1957. She was married to James Jarrott Tracy in 1962 in Sherman, TX. She devoted many years of service to American Bank of Texas. Dorothy was a long-time member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Sherman. She loved painting, creating craft projects, shopping for and collecting antiques. She also loved animals, especially her beloved dog Joey. Preceded in death by her parents, and grandson Joshua Tracy, Dorothy is survived by her loving husband of over 53 years, J.J. Tracy, of Pottsboro; daughters: Cindy Bliss and husband David, of Frisco, and Michelle Leasure and husband John, of Allen; sister Judy Lewis and husband Tom, of Sherman; 5 grandchildren: Natasha Anderson, Ashlee Tracy, Kenny Morrison, Alex Leasure and Ben Leasure. She also had two 2 great-grandchildren: Bailee Alexander and Ryan Alexander. The Tracy family would like to express their sincere thanks and gratitude to Elysian Hospice & Cantex Continuing Care Network for the exceptional care they provided. Memorial donations may be made to either the Alzheimer's Association of Greater Dallas, 7610 N.
