Obituary For Dottie McBride

Dottie Fay McBride longtime resident of the Denison / Sherman area passed away on December 14 2011 at the age of 82. Dottie was a resident at Texoma Healthcare in Sherman. Dottie was born July 11 1929 to Thomas R. Evans and Minne (Wallace) Evans in Blue OK. On February 19 1945 she met the love of her life Porter McBride and on February 21st just two days later she and Porter were married in Rockwall Texas. Dottie grew up playing the guitar and singing gospel songs in her church along with her two sisters. She was raised up in a family of share croppers and knew what it was to work hard. Dottie raised nine kids and never missed a step. Dottie had a total of 32 grandchildren along with great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She is precceded in death by her husband Porter McBride son Jerry Lee son Tommy Lynn grandson Jimmy D. McBride stepgrandson John Banks brothers George Evans Paul Evans Carl Evans Gene Evans and sisters Marie Brown and Ruby Welch and Judy Hooper McBride grandaughter by marriage. Dottie is survived by son Jimmy McBride and wife Vickie of Sherman son Harold McBride of Knoxville TN son Shelley McBride and wife Angela of Pottsboro TX daughter Carolyn Cassell and husband David of Pottsboro son Ronald McBride and wife Debbie of Denison son Rodger McBride and wife Lisa of Denison TX son Curtis McBride and wife Tricia of Sherman TX. Funeral services will be on Saturday Dec.17 2011 at Dannel Funeral Home at 2 p.m.with Rev. Jerry Tadlock with Word of Life Apostolic Church in Whitewright TX. Family visitation will be at Dannel Funeral Home on Friday Dec. 16 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. Pallbearers will be Justin McBride Steven McBride Josh McBride Ronnie McBride Raymond McBride Christopher McBride. Honorary pallbearers will be Barry O""Brien Stan Croce.
