Obituary For Dr. David Michael Phillips

Dr. David M. Phillips, 74, passed away Monday, November 3, 2025. The Rosary will be Monday, November 10, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church in Denison, Texas. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. Family and friends are invited to the Saint Xavier Center for lunch and a time of fellowship immediately following the service.

David Michael Phillips was born on June 21, 1951, in Columbus, Ohio. His parents were Michael David and Barbara Jane Phillips. He grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico before moving to Seabrook, Texas and graduating high school at Clear Creek High in League City, Texas. He graduated from the University of Houston in 1973 and went to the University of Texas Dental School, in Houston graduating in 1977. He completed his residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery in 1981. He then went on to become a board certified oral surgeon in Sherman, Texas as well as being a member of the teaching faculty of Texas A&M University College of Dentistry in Dallas for 38 years.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Patricia Phillips. Dr. David Phillips was preceded in death by his mother, father and brothers Daniel and Douglas.

    Tricia, I'm so sorry for your loss. Thinking of you during this difficult time. I haven't seen Dr. Phillips in years. The last time I saw him we had attend Mass at St.Patrick's. I will always remember the years we worked together and the trip to Boston with the two of you and Judy.

    Dr. Phillips performed oral surgery on my daughter when she was 12. She had a lot of visits with him following this extensive surgery. He always was so very kind and thoughtful. We thought a lot of him. I know he will be missed by all who knew him. Prayers for his loved ones.

    Dr Phillips performed oral surgery for me many years ago. he is the only dental professional to make me so relaxed and comfortable. He was kind, understanding and had a wicked sense of humor. I did not know him in his personal life but I imagine those same attributes were abundant there as well. He was also excellent at his job. I am so sorry for his family's loss. I am sure he will be greatly missed.
