Obituary For Duane Alan Hoover

Duane Alan Hoover, 53, passed away peacefully in Sherman, Texas on August 17, 2022. Duane was born on February 13, 1969, in Independence, Louisiana to Alice Brown Smith and David Hoover. He graduated from Sherman High school in 1987. He married his wife, Wanda Johnson Hoover on March 11, 1996. Duane was a successful and hardworking man for many years, he spent 15 years at Magni-Fab and his last job was at Tyson Foods for over 10 years.

Duane is survived by wife Wanda and 2 sons, Matthew Hoover, Damion McDowell and wife Aleia and his 3 grandchildren Kailani-Mae, Zylan-James and Kalieah-Rose who called him Poppy. He is also survived by his mother Alice and 2 brothers, Wyatt Hoover and Jeff and wife Sharon Hoover, and sister Allyson Loney-Williams and family, as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Duane is preceded in death by his stepdad Greg Smith, father David Hoover and many other family members.

Duane was the type of person to make a joke out of anything and loved to share his faith. He was a humble, kind and loving man, like a big teddy bear, who would be there any time for anyone. If you knew Duane, you know he had the gift of gab and could talk you through whatever situation life may be handing you. He will be deeply missed by all of his family and friends. The family would like to thank Dannel Funeral Home for fulfilling Duane’s wishes and handling the details and service during this difficult time.

The Celebration of Life will be held by Pastor Larry Goodwin at The Refuge in Denison, Texas, on Saturday, August 27 at 10:30 AM.
