Obituaries

Eddie V. Jernigan was born to Joseph and Katie Jernigan on January 15, 1948, in the town of Marshall, Texas. At the age of 9, the family moved to Wolfe City, TX, where Eddie was educated in the Wolfe City schools. Eddie served in the military (Army) for 3 years. Eddie moved to Paris, TX. where he hosted an Alcohol Anonymous support group in his apartment complex. He later moved to Sherman, Texas where he united with the Parkview Church of Christ. Eddie was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Willie Jernigan. Left to mourn his passing are his children: Eddie V. Jernigan Jr (Wolfe City, Texas), LaKebra Jernigan-Furtch (Roger, Bonham, Texas), Cassandra Jernigan (Sherman, Texas) and Eddie Lee Jernigan (Sherman, Texas); his 14 grandchildren; 9 greatgrandchildren; brothers: Joseph Jernigan, Jr (Wolfe City Texas) and Albert Jernigan (Ethel-Plano, Texas); nieces, nephews, cousins, and church friends. Services for Eddie will be held on Friday, February 2, 2018 at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Wolfe City at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel West Cemetery. Rev. Dumas Campbell of New Covenant Christian Church in Dallas will officiate.
