Obituary For Elizabeth Ann Daniel

Elizabeth Ann (Betty) Bernardin Daniel, 60, of Pottsboro, passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loving family. A celebration of Betty’s life will be held on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at 2:00 PM in the Dannel Funeral Home Chapel. Chaplain Kyle Selker of Hospice Plus will officiate. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

Betty was born on November 21, 1958 in Sherman, Texas to Ethel Chloe and Gene Bernardin. She was raised and went to Sherman Schools, graduating in 1977 from Sherman High School. She attended nursing school at Grayson County College and earned her LPN along with a degree in alcohol and drug counseling. She met and eventually married the love of her life, C.C. Daniel on November 23, 1985 and they would remain together for 33 wonderful years. She also had a passion for scuba diving and was a certified diver for many years.

Betty loved her fur-babies. She and C.C. took care of countless rescue animals. She loved vacationing in exotic locations including Cozumel and Cancun, Mexico and the Florida Keys. She loved gameshows like the Price is Right and Jeopardy. When she said you were her friend, her actions showed for a lifetime. You cannot put the flavor of a person on paper. She was extraordinary.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, C.C. Daniel of Pottsboro; son, David Daniel and wife Tonya of Calera, Oklahoma; brother, Robert Yoachem and wife Barbara; brother, Phillip Bernardin and wife Lana of Luella, Texas; cousin, Linda Somers and husband Jeff of Melissa, Texas; grandson, Phillip Daniel and wife Ashley of Sherman; niece, Brittney Bernardin and Jason Morgan of Sherman and children, Raelynn and Josiah, and countless close friends.

The family would like to thank Hospice Plus for all of their care and support for Betty and the entire family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to DAWG, Denison Animal Welfare Group, 3307 S. Eisenhower Pkwy, Denison, Texas 75020. (903) 361-4211.

We are so sad to hear that Betty has left this world. She is at peace and no longer in pain. She was a very kind person. Her love for animals was a big part of her life. She & I talked about her beliefs & faith in God & I believe that she is in Heaven. She will be missed by everyone who loved her! Claryce Wilson & Trey Wilson (neighbors)

My sweet cousin! You have been part of my life from my earliest memories. you taught me, through your example, to live life out loud, to not take any crap and to be a good person. You lived your life loving your friends and family, doing good in the world and being true to yourself. You will be so very deeply missed. I love you Betty!
