Obituary For Elizabeth Merriman Blythe

Elizabeth A. Segler Merriman Blythe, 99, of Sherman, TX, passed away on November 24, 2023 in Sherman, TX.

Visitation will be 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at Dannel Funeral Home, 302 Walnut St, Sherman, TX 75090. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at Restland Cemetery, 2320 Greenville Avenue, Richardson, TX with Rev. Donny Haywood of First United Methodist Church of Archer City, officiating. Arrangements are by Dannel Funeral Home.

Liz was born in Bailey, TX to John and Etta Segler on October 1, 1924. She married K. O. Merriman on December 16, 1944 in Bonham. She graduated from Bailey, TX. She worked as a homemaker and raised her two sons Don and Danny. Later in life after the passing of K.O, Liz married her dance partner Homer Blythe in 1990.

Liz is preceded in death by her parents John and Etta Segler, husband K.O. Merriman, her sister Nell Thomas, husband Homer Blythe, daughters-in-law Diane Merriman and Sandy Merriman and granddaughter Tracie Merriman.

Liz is survived by her sons Don and his wife Trudee, Danny and his wife Sheri, grandchildren John Merriman (Tracy), David Merriman, Marci Chapman (Brent), Casey Merriman (Amber) and Christi Ryle (Jonathan), 13 great grandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren.

Memorials may be given to Playground Equipment for First Baptist Church of Sherman, 400 S. Travis St, Sherman, TX 75090.
