Obituary For Elsie Cummins

Elsie Alline Cummins age 99 formerly of Sherman passed away on Tuesday March 27 2012 at Frankie Lane Assisted Living in Lewisville. Arrangements are entrusted to Dannel Funeral Home of Sherman. Funeral services will be held on Thursday March 29 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Dannel Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Albert Fisher of Key Memorial United Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will follow at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman. The family will receive visitors at Dannel Funeral Home at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday March 29th prior to services. Elsie was the first born of fourteen children. She was born in Mulberry Texas on November 18 1912 to Robert Allie and Maude (Carroll) Hall. She was educated in the public schools graduating from Bonham High School. She married Luther C. Cummins in Durant OK on November 23 1929 and they enjoyed 50 years together before his passing in 1980. Elsie was a homemaker and also worked for a time at Earl Stone""¢s Grocery. She was a member of Key Memorial United Methodist Church for over 65 years she belonged to the Key Bible Class and attended a Senior Citizens quilting group and loved to dance. After her husband passed away Elsie learned to bowl swim and dance. She drove her own car until she was 93. Elsie was preceded in death by her parents husband five brothers Charles Hall Joe Hall Robert Hall Ted Hall and Ned Hall a sister Marjorie Brosofske and a granddaughter Bobbi Gillespie. Survivors include a son Charles Luther Cummins of Prescott AZ, two daughters: Mildred Gillespie and husband Bob of Fultondale AL and Mary Fogle and husband Robert of Lewisville TX, six grandchildren Michael Gillespie and wife Shannon of Pinson AL David Fogle and wife Linda of Lewisville Kathy Bagley and husband Sean of Lewisville Karen Helms and husband Clark of Lewisville Kyla Zollitsch and husband Matt of Rome GA and Kaitlyn Cummins of Prescott AZ, nine great grandchildren, Courtney Kendall Alexandria Kelsey Clay Will Avery Jeremiah and Charles, brothers R.A. Hall Jr. of Mesquite and Jack Hall of Ravenna, sisters Betty Sanford of Mulberry Ella Mae Smith of Alice Neathia Young of Fredricksburg TX Bobbie Lightfoot of Anthony FL and Janice Mumford of McAllen.
