Obituaries

Funeral services for Elta Grace Besherse of Sherman, Texas, will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2018, 1:00 PM at Dannel Funeral Home with Pastor Leland Samuelson officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Elta was born in Panola County, Texas on August 28, 1931 to M.M. and Gracie Witherspoon. She moved to Sherman in 1964 and worked at Johnson and Johnson for 13 years. After her retirement, she met and married Johnny Besherse on January 25, 1979. Elta and Johnny were members of First Baptist Church in Sherman. When she became too ill to attend, she watched church every Sunday from home. She loved to serve people and also spent time as an auxillary member for Medical Plaza. She will be missed by family and friends and everyone fortunate enough to have known her. Elta is survived by 3 children: Danny Briery, Karen Atchley, and Brenda Rogers; 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; two stepsons; 1 brother and 1 sister, Nelwyn Matthews, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
