Elveta June Russell, 89, of Whitesboro, TX, passed away on May 23, 2024 in Whitesboro, TX.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 25 at Dannel Funeral Home in Sherman, TX, with her son Kenney Russell officiating. Interment will be held at a later date at Collinsville Cemetery in Collinsville, Texas. Arrangements are by Dannel Funeral Home.

June was born in Pilot Point, TX, to Everett and Edna Gillum on October 16, 1934. She went to school in Collinsville, TX. She married Wayne Russell and through that marriage they had two sons, Mike and Kenney Russell. June worked for many years alongside her husband as a clerk in the grocery business. After Wayne passed away, she continued working as a clerk until she was in her late 70’s.

June was preceded in death by her husband Wayne Russell, parents Everett and Edna Gillum, brother Wayne Gillum, and her sister Eloise Berend.

She is survived by two sons: Mike Russell and his companion, Cyndi, and Kenney Russell and his wife, Suzanne; four grandchildren: Breigh Mills, Brooke Rushing, Zach Russell, and Jenna Fraser; and four great-grandchildren: Reece Mills, Mason Mills, Cullum Rushing, and Landon Russell.
