Obituary For Florence Coleman

Florence Mae Coleman, 91, long-time resident of Sherman, passed away Monday, January 23, 2017 at Wilson N. Jones Regional Medical Center. Her family will receive friends Wednesday evening, January 25th, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Dannel Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 26th, in Dannel Chapel with Rev. Danny Wood officiating. Interment will follow at 1:00 p.m. in Crossroads Cemetery (Whitewright) Mrs. Coleman was born December 24, 1925, in Whitewright, TX, to Charlie Lee and Ruhemia Clark. She married Charles Coleman August 21, 1946 and together they raised two sons. She worked for Sherman ISD for 15 years in food service, and then served as Food Services Manager at Grayson County College for another 15 years. Mrs. Coleman was a strong, loving wife, mother and friend. Preceded in death by her parents, husband and son Larry Clark Coleman, she is survived by her son Charles Dale Coleman and wife Ruth; six grandchildren: Kim Lawrence & Mindy, Jennifer Clemmensen and husband Dr. Rick, Christopher Coleman and wife Tara; 6 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews, including Barbara Flanagan who tirelessly served Mrs. Coleman as a loving daughter, assistant, nurse, chauffeur and confidante.
