Obituary For Frank Evans

Frank R. Evans, Sr., 83, passed away Thursday, August 6, 2015, at his home surrounded by his family. A family visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, August 10, 2015 at Dannel Funeral Home. Graveside services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at West Hill Cemetery in Sherman. Mr. Evans was born, May 27, 1932, in Sherman, Texas to Cecil and Nella Evans. On June 16, 1951, he married Barbara Jean McBride in Sherman who preceded him in death October 23, 2013. He was employed with Baker Wholesale, Conagra and retired from Central Freight Lines. He was a longtime member of Grayson Bible Baptist Church. He loved gospel and country music and enjoyed western programs and movies. He was a good father who was funny and loved his family, grandchildren, great grandchildren, sisters, and brothers very much. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Barbara and a brother, Alford Evans. He is survived by daughter, Wanda Perkins, husband Russell, of Pottsboro, Texas; sons, Frank R. Evans, Jr., wife, Zuleika of El Paso, Texas; Bobby Evans of Sherman, Texas; daughter, Ellen Wolfington, husband, Walter of Sherman, Texas; brothers, Olen Evans, wife Donna and Alton Evans, wife Beth; sisters, Ella Mae Johnson and Betty Jackson; 10 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Walter Wolfington, Bobby Evans,William Benedict, Richard Barnes, Tyler Bellows and Cavin Bellows with Olen Evans and Alton Evans as Honorary Pallbearers. Your oldest son, Frank, Jr. appreciates you for everything you have done for him and love you with all my heart. The family would like to thank the Grayson County Hospice for taking care of our Dad who was a good father and the sweetest man ever.

    Frank Evans Sr, aka Pops, I only got to know Babara - Mom for a short time but enough time to know she was an awesome Lady, Mom, an friend, an Pops Loved you more than any man I have seen. He was always talking bout being beside her an now the both have the most Grand Time together an only happiness without hurting... Pops, I love an miss you like crazy, you are the one who meet me inline an gave me a firm an stern tongue lashing in the manner I never had.... Bobby loves you and he is having a hard , sad, lonely time..... He wanted you an Mom to have the best of living once he got here to care for y'all.... We love an miss you greatly, but also know you are having the grandest of time.... Please remember we love y'all an enjoyed all the time spent with you, being serious, and also joking, laughing n have a giggle in our tummy with laughter.
