Frankie Mabel Cumming Anderson, 85, of Sherman, Texas, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2026, in McKinney, Texas.
Frankie was born, to Frank and Eunice Cumming, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dr. George Anderson, and her sister, Patricia Cummings.
Frankie earned her Bachelor’s degree from East Texas State University, beginning a lifelong career in education. She taught in various school systems as a Home Economics teacher and served as a leader for cheerleading and drill teams. As a Nutrition Education Director, she provided classroom demonstrations on preparing healthy foods and presented nutrition education workshops for in-service training across the State of Oklahoma for public school teachers. Frankie took great pride in her work as an educator and mentor, especially in encouraging young people to develop confidence, discipline, and life skills that extended well beyond the classroom. Through both academics and extracurricular activities, she influenced generations of students with encouragement, structure, and genuine care.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Frankie was a talented seamstress and made many of her own clothes, reflecting her creativity, skill, and attention to detail.
Deeply rooted in her spiritual faith, Frankie was a devoted member of West Sherman Baptist Church. She lived out her faith through service to others. Frankie was known for her kindness, generosity, and gentle spirit—always placing the needs of others before her own. Her life was a quiet testimony of service, and she believed deeply in showing compassion through everyday actions rather than recognition.
She is survived by her children, son Brent Anderson and spouse Jeff Moulds, of Virginia, and daughter Stacy Davis and husband Brent Davis, of Sherman, Texas; her grandchildren, Parker Davis, Iszabella Davis, and Elizabeth Moulds; her sister, Sandra Yantis, of Sherman, Texas; her nieces and nephews, Jennifer Sefzik, Eric Anderson, Lori Yantis, Ashley Cummings, and Whitney Cummings; and, as Frankie lovingly said, “her angel on four paws,” Apollo.
Frankie’s legacy of faith, service, and dedication to education lives on through her family, her former students, and all who were blessed to know her.
