Obituary For Garry Jim Morris
Garry Jim Morris, 56, of Sherman, Texas, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2026, surrounded by his family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Garry was born on September 8, 1970, in Sherman, Texas, to Garry Wayne Morris and Janice Olivia Armstrong. He attended Sherman High School and later graduated from Grayson County College with a degree in Computer Science.
For nearly 20 years, Garry was the proud owner and operator of Alright Auto in Sherman. He had a lifelong passion for automobiles and could often be found restoring, repairing, collecting, or simply admiring them. He also had a talent for finding hidden treasures and enjoyed collecting anything he believed might someday be "worth money." Many will fondly remember seeing Garry cruising through town in his beloved Chevy Nova with the music turned up, living life on his own terms.
Garry was preceded in death by his mother, Janice Olivia Armstrong; his beloved Mamaw, Willie Jean White; and his grandmother, Thelma Morris.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving girlfriend of 11 years, Juanita Robinson; his children, Ashlyn Curry, Lara Clark, and Saddie Thompson; his sisters, Alexia Nacman and Andrea Means (Josh); his brother, Anthony Morris (Cyndal); and his cherished nieces and nephews, Audrey McCarthy, Adelynn McCarthy, Willow Hunter, River Means, Alaina Means, and Fisher Morris.
He is also survived by his aunts, Peggy Van Horn (Mike), Kathy Morris Mercer, and Gale Godwin; his uncle, Grady Johnson (Linda); his cousins, Shane Van Horn (Andrea), Shannon Turner (Jeff), Cory Van Horn, Michael Johnson (Christi), Scott Godwin (Julie), and many other beloved cousins; along with numerous dear friends who became family throughout the years.
The family extends their sincere gratitude to Dr. Phillips and the nurses and staff of Celina Methodist Hospital for their compassionate care, kindness, and support during Garry's final days.
Garry's love for family, friendship, and automobiles will be remembered always. Though his presence will be deeply missed, the memories he created and the lives he touched will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
