i remember Sparky meeting thru my brothers, Ricky and Randy - he was a wonderfully unique character. I am so sorry that I did not learn of his passing and the memorial until after the memorial - i would have enjoyed reminiscing about his crazy life. I think he will be one that I continue to remember for years to come.

Remember when Sparky played Conrad Birdie in the school musical Bye Bye Birdie?? We sprayed "dyed" his hair black for the part. My parent had a 50's style pink tile bathroom - needless to say Sparky and I were cleaning walls for quite some time! He spent an entire drive in movie date trying to explain existentialism to me - waaay above my brain cells. Haven't seen him in years but will always remember what a special person he was.

We met in the children's choir at the 1st Presbyterian Church when it was on Travis, I was in the 1st grade. Friends ever since. Gus was one of the smartest, most creative, funniest, and quickest fellows I have ever known. I miss him.

David Hall and I went by to see Sparky while I was in Sherman for a class mini reunion...so glad we did. It is sad to lose another classmate....Rest in Peace, Sparky !

I've enjoyed knowing Sparky since fourth grade, losing a longtime friend is hard anytime but especially around Christmas and just two days before his birthday. Sincerely, David Hall
