Obituary For George Connor

George Frank Connor, 78, was called home to his Lord on Monday, February 27, 2017. Frank was born March 7, 1938 in Sherman, Texas to George and Isabel Connor. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am, Friday, March 3, 2017 at Dannel Funeral Home in Sherman, Texas with Pastor Chet Teel and Chaplain Denis Gray officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman, Texas. A brief reception will occur at Victory Life Church of Sherman following the burial. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at the funeral home, Thursday night. Frank married his bride Dorothy Fay Cason Connor in Sherman, Texas, August 8, 1959. He retired from PPG Industries in Wichita Falls after over 30 years of service as an Electrical Maintenance Supervisor. They were members of Victory Life Church of Sherman. Frank was known by every community in which he lived as caring for his neighbors, able to make any type of repair, and creator of many original innovations. He was widely admired, greatly respected, and deeply loved. He is preceded in death by his father, George Francis Connor, Sr. and his mother, Martha Isabel Hix Connor. Survivors include his wife Dorothy Cason Connor of Sherman; daughters Sharon Jones and husband Scott of Ovilla, Karyn "KK" Marklinger and husband Dale of Calgary, Alberta, Canada; sons Charles "Chuck" Connor and wife Kathleen of Sherman, Craig Connor and wife Alaina of Holliday; sisters Claire Baker of Sherman, Ellen LaFoy and husband Larry of Sherman, Linda Denison of Sherman, Elaine Tyson of Tanglewood; brother Richard Connor and wife Julie of Frankston; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations made to Poppy's Place Mighty Oak Memorial. This would enable a lasting oak tree, bench, and memory stone to be placed on the family property to honor and celebrate the life of their Poppy.
