Obituary For Gerald Frimann

Send Flowers Gerald R Frimann October 27, 1937 - March 2, 2015 Gerald R. Frimann, 77, of Sherman, passed away early Monday, March 2, 2015, surrounded by his family in his home. Rosary will be offered at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 4th, in Dannel Chapel, with family visitation to follow. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 5th, at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Celebrant will be Fr. Jeremy Myers and Con-celebrant will be Fr. Antonio Aureus. Additionally, the family will receive friends at the Billings Funeral Home in Woodward, OK, at 7:00 p.m. Friday evening, March 6th. Graveside services with military honors are scheduled for 12:00 noon, in Mooreland Cemetery, Saturday, March 7th. Gerald was born October 27, 1937, in Alliance, NE, to Lorenz and Margaret Andersen Frimann. He proudly served his country in the US Navy from 1955-1958, and then remained active for many years in the Reserves. He was married to Frances Colleen Vannatta on July 8, 1959. Much of his career was spent as an electronics technician with the Natural Gas Pipeline Company of America. Gerald's interests and talents were diverse. He obtained his license as a private pilot at a young age, and enjoyed any time spent 'in the air'. When on the ground, and especially in later years, he dearly loved gardening. After retirement and relocation to Sherman, Gerald was an active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, the Red River Rose Society, and the Grayson County Master Gardener's Association. Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, Lorenz and Margaret Frimann; brother, Loren Frimann; sister-in-law, Janice Vannatta; niece, Sandra Vannatta; and nephew, Glenn VAnnatta. Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, Frances Colleen; son Mark (Lori) Frimann, of Sherman; daughters: Maria (Mike) Mitchell, of Woodward, OK, Joan Frimann, of Woodward, OK, Laurie (Roger) Alabach, of Morrilton, AR, and Renee (Dennis) Hasz, of Tulsa, OK; brother, Lonnie (Janet) Frimann, of Scott's Bluff, NE; sister, Darlene (Kenneth) Aspinalla, of Kerrville, TX; mother-in-law, Frances Young, of Hay Springs, NE; sisters-in-law: Kathy Frimann, of Hay Springs, NE, and Lenora (Joe) Johnson, of Hay Springs, NE; brothers-in-law: Donald (Mary) Vannatta, of Hay Springs, NE, Bryan (Beverly) Young, of Hay Springs, NE, and Dale (Maria) Young, of Billings, MT; grandsons: Christopher Mitchell, Michael Mitchell, Britton (Michelle) Mitchell, Nate (Courtney) Frimann, Nicholas Mitchell, Cody Frimann, and Benjamin Hasz; granddaughters: Katelyn (Tyler) McMinn, Kendra (Danny) Badley, and Lydia Nicole Alabach; great-grandchildren: Paris Mitchell, Hollie Mitchell, Zoey Mitchell, Cassidy Frimann and Charlie Dwayne Frimann; numerous extended family and a host of friends. Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons: Christopher Mitchell, Michael Mitchell, Nicholas Mitchell, Britton Mitchell, Nate Frimann, Cody Frimann, Benjamin Hasz and Tucker Heglin. Honorary pallbearers will be: Fr. Jon Harrington, Terry Hall, Dwight VanDorn, Ed Supina, Dick Crocker and Gary Tarpley. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are appreciated to the St. Mary's Restoration Fund at 727 S. Travis St. in Sherman, TX (75090).
