Obituary For Gerald Martin Guest

Gerald Martin Guest, 69, of Sherman, Texas passed away on January 2nd, 2020. He was born in Paris, Texas on March 9th, 1950. Gerald graduated from Clarksville High School and received a Bachelors in Business Administration from East Texas State University.

Gerald had a career in Law Enforcement for Athens Clarke County Sheriff's Department. He was a member of East Texas State Alumni, and had a passion for football, golf, tennis, driving, traveling, and good food. He married Peggy Martin Guest on February 16th, 2019.

He is survived by his children Kevin Michael Guest, Ryan Matthew Guest, and grandchildren Ashley Taylor Ann Guest, Madisyn Elizabeth Guest, and Hailey Rae Guest.

Funeral arrangements will be held at 10am, January 10th, 2020 at Dannel Funeral Home.

    Gerald was a friend all through school in Clarksville. We played football together and Senior day he loaned me his golf clubs and I played my first 9 holes of golf. The fact that I was right handed and Gerald was not didn't bother my game at all. We had a pretty good laugh because he didn't beat me by that much. I never heard Gerald say anything bad about or to anyone. I am sorry I haven't seen him in so long. My sympathy to his family. Mark Burtner
